International Women’s Day is a powerful reminder of the importance of self-esteem in women. Self-esteem is the belief in one’s own value, abilities, and worth. For women around the world, building strong self-esteem means recognizing their strengths, skills, embracing their unique voices, and refusing to let stereotypes or limitations define who they are. They choose to forge their own identity through their own lenses that is based on a solid foundation.
Throughout history, women have overcome barriers in education, leadership, social and cultural norms, traditional gender roles, emotional and physical barriers and many other fields. They also hold unique power within, as human being who can hold life and can overcome challenges that they did not know was possible. Yet many still face challenges that can affect their self-esteem, confidence and self-worth.
Celebrating Women’s International Day encourages women to uplift one another, speak proudly about their achievements, create environments where every woman feels valued and respected.
This month let’s reminds ourselves that each one of us have a role to play, no matter how small it may look to us or others.
Because that small role you may find insignificant, could be the very actions that someone in this world may need to hear, to see or to have. Therefore, choose to take actions, be part of the solution, part of the change in any way that is possible, to help one and another build self-esteem and grow.
One could a mentor, a guide, a teacher, a helper, a friend, a supporter, a mother, a daughter, a grandmother to someone, and vice versa, someone else out there could play any of these roles in one’s life. Because as human being and specially as women, we need support and community, we need to rely on each other to help elevate our voices.
When women believe in themselves, they inspire change—not only in their own lives but also in the lives of those around them, their family, their relationships, their colleagues, acquaintances, neighbors, their communities and future generations. It takes one step, one action, one intention, one decision, one change, one idea, one thought, one mind shift, one mindset, one inspiration to start changing lives all around us.
Let’s choose to be part of building stronger self-esteem in women. When we have a positive sense of self, we can build healthy and happy women and community.
The reality is we all learn from each other, and if we are open to the idea that one can gain knowledge, wisdom, or a lesson from someone else, even watching a small child could be a moment of learning. We do this by connecting and supporting one and another, be open to give and receive freely and unconditionally.
This month’s Women International Day focus on #GiveToGain. This is the perfect theme to reminds us that the best way to build our self-esteem, is by starting to see the world around us differently, to see the possibilities for change around us, so that we can also see it in ourselves.
We start to give freely to others, in wherever way we can, without expectations, and in turn, we are more likely to receive from others, either in kind or in other ways. The idea is that whenever we give freely, we can gain in return. Giving freely does not have to be anything big in nature because we never know what someone may need.
Giving can be in a form of time, caring, love, knowledge, wisdoms, lessons learned in one life, skills, resources, kind gestures to a simple smile. These simple gestures can uplift someone spirit, brighten their day, bring them joy, make them happy, guide them, give them perspective, while giving the similar positive effect on the giver-It is a win-win.
Furthermore, give to gain, also means choosing to authentically connect with other, which in turn, allow other to do the same with us. We need more women who recognize that there is more to them than their titles, their roles, their possessions, and want to be part of change and growth and play their part, no matter how small it may seem.
We have heard of many examples and studies that show how giving and sharing can inspire change in others, to do the same or take similar actions. Additionally, it is those small actions that can positively impact our self-esteem.
In this international women day, show up boldly for other women, choose to be a supporter of someone today, genuinely care about others growth and success in any you can, and whenever possible, and start seeing the ripple benefit in your own life.
You can be the very person someone in your life need and look up to start transforming their own life.
You can be that role model for young and adults’ women around you.
You can be that voice that illuminate and give courage to someone who needed it
Let’s empower each other’s through thoughts, words, and actions. Start giving to gain💜✨
